Recognizing the central role that public procurement plays in public service delivery, financial management, and sustainable development, this MAPS MAIN assessment resulted in recommendations targeting the modernization of the legal and regulatory framework, the strengthening of institutional capacity and procurement professionalization, and the enhancement of competition and market efficiency. Additionally, this assessment emphasizes improving transparency, integrity, and accountability within Mauritius' public procurement system.
A further assessment using MAPS E-PROC resulted in recommendations targeting the full digitalization of procurement processes, the adoption of Open Contracting Data Standards (OCDS), and the strengthening of e-Procurement integration with other digital government services.
