Recognizing the central role that public procurement plays in public service delivery, financial management, and sustainable development, this MAPS MAIN assessment resulted in recommendations targeting the need for enhanced professionalization, improved procurement data collection, and more effective oversight mechanisms. A further assessment using MAPS SPP emphasized the importance of strengthening environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations, developing more systematic monitoring and reporting on sustainability, and ensuring procurement policies support Norway’s broader green transition goals.
