Recognizing the central role that public procurement plays in public service delivery, financial management, and sustainable development, this MAPS MAIN assessment for Senegal resulted in recommendations targeting the modernization of procurement regulations, strengthening procurement oversight, enhancing competition and efficiency in procurement processes, and improving transparency and integrity mechanisms.
The MAPS PROF assessment complemented these findings by focusing on the professionalization of public procurement, emphasizing the need for structured career paths, accreditation systems, continuous training programs, and the creation of an independent professional body for procurement officials.
