This MAPS MAIN assessment resulted in recommendations targeting the refinement of the 2018 Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, alignment with the rollout of the e‑Government Procurement (eGP) system, strengthening of public financial management integration, and enhancement of oversight and anti‑corruption frameworks. It builds on Zimbabwe’s ongoing procurement reforms led by PRAZ, including the introduction of eGP in 2024–2025 and planned legislative updates, and identifies measures to address overuse of direct procurement, weak procurement data systems, incomplete contract management practices, and limited stakeholder participation, with the aim of improving transparency, efficiency and value for money in support of national development objectives.
